HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ETC. ACT 1974
The following statement is a declaration of Universal Sealants (UK) Limited intent concerning compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent regulations in the interest of health, safety and welfare at work.
As Chairman my Board of Directors and I recognise and accept our responsibilities to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe and healthy working environment. The Joint Managing Director, Mr Neil Bennett is named as the Director responsible for Group Health and Safety.
Occupational Health and Safety forms an integral part of our business performance and our aim is to achieving high standards throughout each business unit.
To this end, the company will take all reasonably practicable steps to provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Procedures have been put in place to monitor activities and are maintained in line with the companies ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Scheme.
We will continue to undertake our operations in a way that will provide a safe and healthy working environment and avoids risk to anyone because of our activities.
We will also strive to minimise the impact that our services and activities may have on the environment as a whole.
To discharge our health and safety responsibility equal priority will be given to that of any other statutory duty.
Every employee has a part to play in the implementation of the company health and safety policy and in particular has a duty to take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts and/or omissions and to co-operate to ensure the highest levels of safety are maintained.
Employees will be given every encouragement to work safely and will be provided with such information, training and supervision as is reasonably necessary to enable them to do so.
Arrangements will be made to ensure that our policy documents are appropriately implemented and monitored.
