As part of the major project to extend the prestigious Athens
Concert Hall, Pitchmastic was selected to apply the PmB structural
waterproofing system to the buried roof structure.
The entire project will be hidden in the existing park area to
retain the natural beauty of the site.
The client elected to use the PmB system for the most difficult
and irregular stepped elevations of the roof area which
incorporated integral subsurface
The works to the roof areas were extremely sensitive to water
ingress as the concert hall venue was located directly beneath this
area. The structure has a 300 year design life and
therefore the choice of waterproofing was of critical importance.
The installation to 3000 m 2 of buried concrete surfaces was
completed during Spring 2002 with the system subjected to stringent
on site testing.
