Sowah Island is the core of Abu Dhabi's new Central Business
District (CBD) as designated by the Urban Council in Plan Abu Dhabi
2030. Strategically located between Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi
Island and Mina Zayed, making it the commercial hub for the City.
Among the first developments on the Island is Sowah Square, an

The works included (phase 1 roads and infrastructure package)
the design and build of a 5km elevated roadway and 4 bridges which
connects the island to the mainland and adjacent (Reem Island).
The specification for waterproofing of the entire elevated
roadways and bridges was for a high performance spray applied
elastomeric waterproofing system. Pitchmastic PmB, having over 20
years of experience in this field particularly within the Middle
East and as manufacturers of The PmB spray applied structural
waterproofing system, were selected to carry out both the supply
and installation of the system which met the clients exacting
standards for quality, performance and proven long term durability
in the aggressive Middle East environment. In total there is
158000m² (plus additional areas to planters and landscaping.) Works
are being undertaken using Pitchmastic's unique twin headed
articulated spray unit capable of up to 1500m² per day output.
